What is Teru Teru Bozu?

Teru Teru Bozu is actually a Japanese folklore. It is a traditional hand made doll of white paper or cloth that Japanese farmer began hanging outside of their window by a string. This amulet is supposed to have a magical power to bring good weather and to stop or prevent a rainy day. Teru is a Japanese verb to desribes sunshine and Bozu is a Buddhist monk( there a story about a monk that promises to stop rain but failed, coz of that he is executed). In a modern slang it is "bald headed" also for adressing "little boys".For nowdays childrens make teru teru bozu out of tissues paper or white cotton and string and hang them from a window to wish for sunny weather before a school picnic day.Actually I accidently found out about Teru Teru Bozu when I watch Japanese drama "With Love". And I fall in love with Teru Teru Bozu,a cute little doll hanging from a window. Of couse at that time I don't know what it really is,know I understand. It is very intresting to know other county custom."With Love" is a story about Takasi(Takenouchi) a talented composer who could not write a love song ever since his girlfriend Rina left him suddenly, he accidentally sent an uncompleted piece of his latest work to Amane(Tanaka) via email.Deeply touch by his music Amane wrote back to him, without getting a reply. She kept writting to him pouring out her thought.Only when she signed as "Teru Teru Bozu",did Takeshi responded with a mail saying "Who Are You" signed HATA because what Rina left him a farewell gift was a teru teru bozu written "So Long". That is what the drama all about.' Since then I"m falling in love with "TERU TERU BOZU". This is my version  of "Teru-Teru Bozu".
